Community Consultation Success: A Collaborative Approach to Planning

At Urbanissta, we pride ourselves on delivering meaningful engagement that brings communities into the heart of planning. One recent project exemplifies our end-to-end communications approach, ensuring transparency, accessibility, and genuine dialogue.

Identifying Stakeholders We began by mapping out key stakeholders, including local residents, community groups, and the parish council. Understanding who needed to be involved was the foundation for a successful consultation.

Engaging the Community Our team worked closely with the parish council to coordinate outreach. We designed and distributed newsletters to local households, clearly outlining the proposed development and inviting residents to participate in the consultation process.

Hosting an Inclusive Event An in-person consultation was held at a centrally located, fully accessible venue. Council members and representatives from the developer team were present to answer questions and listen to feedback. The event was well-attended and fostered constructive conversations.

Digital Access for All To ensure no one was left out, we created a dedicated webpage containing all project information, including downloadable versions of the consultation boards. This allowed residents who couldn’t attend in person to stay informed and share their views.

Outcome The consultation was a resounding success, with strong community participation and valuable insights gathered. It demonstrated the power of clear, inclusive communication in shaping planning outcomes that reflect local needs.

Expanding Our Reach: Welcoming New Clients

At Urbanissta, we’re proud to offer expert planning and communications support that goes beyond policy—focusing on stakeholder engagement, community buy-in, and sustainable outcomes.

We’re currently looking to take on new clients across the Midlands, South, South East, London, and Kent. Whether you’re a developer, local authority, or landowner, our experienced team is here to help you navigate the planning process with confidence and clarity.

As part of our strategic insight, we’ve recently reviewed the 2025 Housing Indicators for the Midlands, Central England, and Essex, which we’ve explored in more detail in our latest blog series. These insights help us tailor our approach to meet the evolving needs of each region.

From strategic planning advice to tailored communications and public consultation, we deliver results that build trust and unlock potential.
