Heritage

Put your building’s history and future in safe hands

Conservation is defined in the revised 2019 National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) which states that this is the ‘process of maintaining and managing change to a heritage asset in a way that sustains and, where appropriate, enhances its significance. Our team’s understanding and expertise in this complex area supports our clients as we acknowledge and preserve the historic past whilst considering future development.

We work upon a range of projects across England providing commercially pragmatic heritage, conservation and archaeological support and advice to a range of clients from private clients to Architects and Developers.

We offer advice in these key areas:

> Heritage Assessments
> Statements of Significance
> Conservation Area Appraisals and Management Plans (for Local Planning Authorities)
> Conservation Management Plans for historic buildings and landscapes
> Commercial Heritage, Conservation & Design Advice
(or Consultancy /Representation / Advocacy)
> Archaeology and Desk Based Assessments as well as Written Schemes of Investigation

In promoting a residential development adjacent to a listed building – the former Regional Seat of Government in a nuclear bunker! We employed Urbanissta to address the heritage and conservation issues associated with our development proposals for 345 dwellings. They provided constructive and practical advice to support our planning application and supported us through the planning process until we finally secured planning permission. We would definitely use Urbanissta to provide heritage advice in the future. Sally Smith, Senior Planning Manger, Bellway (East Midlands)
